Converting a combustion car to electric was the only way to get an electric car before about 2012 here in BC, and now we have electric cars available, conversion activity dropped off.

But it's starting to come back now that people have experienced electric, but also have cars that they want to keep - then why not convert?

It's not cheap to convert a combustion car - count on CAD$20,000-$30,000 just in parts.  It may only make sense because the vehicle you want to convert is a collector car, or is one that means a lot to you.

Aside from the actual project planning, sourcing and labour to convert, what else do you need to know?

In BC if you modify a cars engine (such as converting to electric) then you are required to have a safety inspection.
